The ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Finance has been designed for senior finance professionals, enhancing strategic skills. This Qualification covers financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, management accounting, audit, and compliance. Completion leads to a top-up MSc Accountancy and Financial Management degree, boosting career prospects.
This comprehensive diploma builds a strong foundation for strategic work in accounting and finance. Graduates gain expertise in key areas and develop advanced skills. The qualification also allows for a top-up MSc degree, further enhancing educational credentials.
By completing the ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Accounting and Finance, professionals advance their careers with strategic contributions. The qualification also provides eligibility for a top-up MSc Accountancy and Financial Management degree, expanding educational achievements.
This programme is offered on a rolling basis through self-study and remote Tutor support, this mode of study requires self-discipline and motivation to ensure the monthly deadlines are adhered to. We aim to support you to complete this programme in 8 months on average (though it may be longer if the target dates are not met). You will be given access to the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) which contains all the resources required to study each topic and then complete the Assessment Tasks. There is a mixture of formative and summative assessment to allow you to check your progress at the end of each section. You will be provided with Tutor contact details and they are on hand throughout your programme to ensure all your queries and uncertainties are answered promptly.
Learners must complete 5 mandatory units, with each unit carrying 20 Credits and 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
The unit will ensure that students are able to examine corporate reporting from a number of perspectives, i.e. the preparer of corporate reports and from the perspective of a variety of different stakeholders such as finance providers.
This unit develops the students understanding of key financial management knowledge and skills and prepares them to advise management and/or clients on complex strategic financial management issues facing an organisation. The unit explores the role and responsibility of a senior executive or advisor in meeting competing needs of stakeholders within the business environment of multinationals.
The aim of this unit is to introduce students to the strategic role of management accounting as a discipline for planning and controlling business performance to ensure strategic objectives can be set, monitored and controlled. The unit covers the impact of external factors on strategic management issues, such as macro-economic, fiscal, market and environmental impacts on performance.
The aims of this unit are to ensure that students have a detailed understanding of the techniques of the key aspects of taxation. It will extend the students’ knowledge of the tax system, together with their ability to apply that knowledge to the issues commonly encountered by individuals and businesses in the UK.
The aims of this unit are to ensure that students have a sound understanding of audit and assurance in practice. The unit begins with a review of the legal and regulatory environment and the need to comply with appropriate practice management techniques.
On successful completion students will be eligible to apply to Top Up their Level 7 with 100 credits from the University of Bolton to a full MSc Accountancy and Financial Management.
The progression options are available as a result of a collaborative agreement between the University of Bolton and WINC Online.
The Top Up Degree is offered through synchronous online learning which uses state of the art lecture technology in place of a traditional classroom, allowing access to classes from anywhere in the world!
